I have read many of the reviews complaining about how slow this story is moving. I have to say that I am just fine with its pace. And this is coming from the guy who thinks the best moment in a comic is the two- page "Splash Page" depicting a epic battle with thousands of characters.
Honestly though, I am enjoying the storytelling here. It's nice watching Fraction take his time, more realistic even. Compare this story to the current X-Men titles for instance. They just finished defending San Francisco from a Sentinel invasion from the future and now they are battling vampires. No break in between. If I was a member of the X-Men, I'd probably hang myself! I mean, not a minute passes that someone isn't gunning for you! Iron Man on the other hand, is a story that moves along the way I would expect this type of drama to play out in real life.
So, the Hammer family has finally tipped their hand, and are going in to finish the job off. This can only mean one thing, an Iron Man/Detroit Steel showdown.
I am enjoying the psychological aspect of the story told through the industrial sabotage lense. Makes you realize just how cut-throat the industrial machine can be.
I'm starting to think that the problem with art is Frank D'Armata's colouring, not Larroca's lines. His colours are too pastel looking for the lines.
So, yeah, I said it. I am enjoying this book. Slow and steady wins the race.
