My LCS owner made fun of me for picking up this book. He knows my preference for all things Marvel, and labelled me the dreaded, "Fan Boy" for picking up a book simply because Kevin Smith wrote it. Well, guilty as charged! I love Kevin Smith, and I cannot lie! Sorry....
I really do enjoy Smith's writing on funny books though. I think he has a really good handle on dialogue and pays close attention to character development. This newest reincarnation of the Green Hornet is no exception. Smith masterfully plays Green Hornet and Kato off of one another. Rather than Kato being written as a subservient oriental driver, he is written as the unsung hero, who wastes no time in telling Hornet that he would be in deep trouble without him.
This is a great introductory story that has me very pumped about this series. The art was great and writing was very clever. As long as Smith can hit the deadlines, I will be a happy camper. I think it is safe to say that Kevin has a thing for green!
