This book was awesome! And here is the kicker, John Romita Jr.'s artwork was god-awful. I mean, I hate his work to begin with, but this was some of his worst work yet.
Thing is, Bendis' writing saved this book. In fact, the writing was so good, that I could care less about the art. Sure I felt as though I was going to vomit after the first few pages, but soon enough, Bendis' fantastic storytelling carried me away.
The newest incarnation of Earth's Mightiest Heroes are in a world of trouble. What to do, help Kang, destroy Wonderman? There are brilliant references to important timelines, introductions to great characters and a smack-down of epic proportions.
This was the best read in some time and I can't wait for issue #3.
