Solid Gold!

The best way to sum up this series is to say that Thunderbolts is my "rock". I can always count on this rag-tag group of heroes to re-affirm my love for all things superhero.

Issue #149 continues down the Shadowland path, with Luke Cage sending his misfit team down into the sewers. Their task, to retrieve a friend of Cage's kidnapped family member. Kidnapped of course, by the Hand.

Thanks to a surprise attack from the undead ninjas, the T-Bolt's two supervisors (Songbird and Fixer)are forced to leave their misunderstood team unattended in the tunnels. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that this is a recipe for disaster.

A great battle ensues, and Moonstone reminds readers why she should be considered a heavyweight within the Marvel Universe. Actually, Jeff Parker does a fantastic job of defining each member of the Thunderbolts in this issue. Ghost is powerful but pathetic. Juggernaut actually has some leadership capabilities and Crossbones is a pure bread psycho!

There was way too much awesomeness to cover in this review. But, let's just say that Cage needs to reel in Crossbones, real soon! This new team has made me forget all about their predecessors. They are everything a Thunderbolt team should be.

Declan Shalvey's art might scare some away, but I think the story is so strong that you won't even notice his overly simplified lines.

Check out this book, it is Marvel's best kept secret!
