I've found myself on a bit of a Paul Smith kick this week. I knew of and loved his work on Uncanny X-Men but never really thought to check out the rest of his work. CCL helped me discover that he was credited as doing work in this issue, so I snapped up a copy.
The first 20 pages of this book seem to spin out of events that I hadn't read but are recapped nicely on the title page. I've never been a big fan of Mike Wieringo's work, as it is far too cartoony for me, but it works here. The story is both light and meaningful and I am eager to read the second part.
The back up is just as fun. While this isn't the Smith art I remember from my youth, I'm glad I picked up this book.
