Frank Castle is a man on a mission. That mission just happens to have him on the wrong side of the law. It also has him on the radar of one Nick Fury who has plans for the Punisher.
Laying a trap for the Punisher draws him like a fly to honey and after a couple of punches to the face from Captain America Frank is in custody and charged with a count of murder for every piece of scum the blew away. So Fury makes him an offer that he can't refuse and Frank becomes a member of Fury's black ops Avengers. He becomes as Fury puts it the Captain America of the black ops. He even gets decked out in an Ultimate version of that Captain America tribute costume the Punisher from the 616 ran around in.
What we get here is a good little Punisher story with a twist. One that will be interesting to watch play out over the next few issues. I just hope that this new Punisher "Captain America" outfit actually does the cool stuff Fury hints at.
This new team of black ops Avengers has loads of promise for all kinds of bad guy arse kicking. There will be no punches pulled and with Frank as the star of this team there will be a body count.
As always solid artwork and that special little Ultimates twist to help keep that wonderful edge to familar characters.
