Rick, Carl and the rest of the survivors are giving a stranger named JESUS the benefit of the doubt and following him to safe haven in the 3rd part of the current storyline in THE WALKING DEAD comic book: "A Larger World".
I read the first 10 Walking Dead trades collecting the comic book before I ever picked up an individual issue. And that was about 2 months before the TV show started up. Now that the second season of the TV show is over, I thought now might be a good time to get reacquianted with the ongoing series to sate my thirst for this awesome series. And it doesn't disappoint.
Rick Grimes has been through it all. *SPOILERS* He lost his wife and child. He lost his hand. His son has been shot. Twice. You'd think that there's little more to be told after 95 issues, but Robert Kirkman pulls stories out of his hat for this comic book as if he's lived in the world himself and he's come home to tell the tale.
Do you own any WALKING DEAD back issues? GOOD. You'll be pleasantly surprised to know that almost everyone of them so far, including this one are smoking hot on the secondary market. With the summer upon us, it's possible that readership will wane on this book until the show starts back up in the fall. Possible, but I doubt it. Many people wait to read the trades for this book (as I did), making the individual issues must have items for collectors. Do yourself a favor: if your local comic shop has ANY back issues of the WALKING DEAD for cover price or less. BUY THEM. With a popular franchise like this one, it's pretty much money in the bank....at least for now.
