Soul Searching

I haven't been too big a fan of this series up to this point. I haven't been able to connect to the writing at all. Ultimately though, maybe I shouldn't be able to connect to the character. What do I know about female emotions or abused females in general? Who better to capture this voice than a female author?

So, while I can't relate to Marjorie Liu's writing, I can try and relate to the story devices themselves.

In this issue Gambit continues on his journey with X-23 who is unsure as to whether she possesses a soul (being she is a clone of Wolverine.) As is often the case, the two heroes become sidetracked from their main mission while trying to help an old friend of Gambits. While on this journey, X-23 makes some choices that Gambit points out as proving she has a soul.

The overall message is deep and thoughtful. Maybe too thoughtful for an insensitive jerk such as myself. I've decided to give this series one more issue and then I am going to cut it loose. I can't see it sticking around for too long if many people view it the same way as I do.
