Flash: Rebirth is a terrific story, but #2 is a little...
slow, no pun intended.
We're seeing guest-stars from Wally's run on the Flash pop up at the rate of one-per-issue and systematically get killed by an unknown force attached to Barry's return.
The series is a Hyperspeed clone of
Green Lantern: Rebirth so far, and I'm reminded how slow GL:ReB started out. In the end, it was a well-balanced story told equally well over 6 issues, so I'm counting on this one being close to the same thing. However, I WILL say I think I have the mystery of this one figured out already, using clues already popping up in the story, as well as DC Graphic Novels solicitating at the moment. Put two and two together, and I think this one's not quite a mystery anymore.
Johns and Van Sciver are today's Claremont and Byrne, bar none. Ethan's art has gotten progressively better over time, as if it were bad or something.
Now, if they'll just KEEP Barry in the bowtie, I'll be sound as a pound.
