Stretches the Brain

The mystery surrounding gentic triploids, mutants with the X-gene on the 13'th chromosome strand and parallel universes. I have to say that I am really digging this story. Simone Bianchi's dark art really works for this gritty storyline and Ellis is doing a fine job of capturing Frost, Cyclops, Wolverine, Armour, Beast and Storm. In fact, I think the dynamic of this squad is the best I've seen in some time. As the group split up into pairs, each meets up and subdues a different threat. References to M-Day are dropped, which I always enjoy (knowing that the micro-continuity of the storyline is still relevant that is.) And like any good comic, the last page offers a reveal that promises to re-introduce a fan favourite character back into the mix. All in all, a great issue. A nice mix of actions and deeper thinking. Can't wait to see where this one goes!
