It’s an event when Superheroes deal with events beyond their own make-believe world. Dini and Ross present a real problem in a very sensible way. World hunger is not a one man’s or Superman’s to deal with, but a problem to be tackled by humanity as a species with enduring mechanisms that will sustain the effort; teach to fish is the best metaphor, but people must have access to the sea. This is the issue that could not be addressed because it means dealing with not only access to knowledge but also to the means of using this knowledge.
The realism of Ross’ art and Dini’s direct words make for a strong combination of hyper-realism. It’s important that these issues are brought to the forefront for humanity will not progress without a satisfactory answer to these intractable problems.
