Suprisingly Good!

Strangely enough, I enjoyed this collection of short stories! As the cover indicates, the issue covers, "The Agents of the Avengers", "Adam, The Blue Marvel", "Taskmaster" and "Squirrel Girl". Surprisingly, all four stories were pretty good.

The first story featured all of the new handlers of the revised Avenger teams. Maria Hill (Avengers), Victoria Hand (New Avengers), Sharon Carter (Secret Avengers) are holding down the fort at Avengers Tower when the Absorbing Man comes staggering in, drunk and looking to pick a fight. The girls more than hold their own against this baddie.

Story two details a much ignored character in The Blue Marvel. Adam Brashear struggles with his role in this new age of superheroes, but ends up finding all the motivation he needs.

The third story is a set-up for the upcoming Taskmaster series, which debuts in September. And from me to you, this looks good. This was probably my favourite story of the bunch.

The last, was a whimsical look at Squirrel Girl, playing off her much talked about ability to defeat Omega level threats.

All in all, four decent reads. These collection issues often don't pan out. This was not the case here.
