The Battle Gun PART 2!!!!!

Ahoy there me hearties! Hop aboard as we set course for The Middle East in search of ol' Frank Castle, and keep a watchful eye open as his adventures take him places he never wanted to go!

Anyway, enough of the pirate mumbo jumbo, Im feeling a little too 'Long John Silver' for my own good!

Lets get down to the issue at hand! Frank is tied to a huge gun (as the cover quite accuratly suggests) and to be honest I havnt a clue how he got himself up there in the first place (however seen as though its the punisher I dont think it would take me too long to work it out), yet alone how he survived the fall when coming down in this issue, he is simply human after all. Oh no wait, I forgot The U.S Marines teach you how to fall from huge milehigh guns! *raises eyebrow* Still, as I was saying, this story from what I gathered is about Frank trying to save a scientist who had been captured by a nasty man in the Middle East so that he could build this nasty man a gun to fight his rivaling country who he was fighting. Frank also had to kill this nasty man! Tee-hee.

It all seemed way too far-fetched to take itself seriously, but bless it, it does try its best to do so.

Nonetheless, having not read the first half of this 2 part story, I would say that this issue was enjoyable in the sense you got too see The Punisher get his man while killing endless numbers of useless henchmen beforehand. Good classic Punisher stuff! I imagine this would have read well if you'd have read part 1 along with it, as the dialogue seemed very constructive and it all flowed quite nicely ending with an awesome dramatic battle!

There was a great example of 'Situation Ethics' in here as well which I enjoyed! Joseph Fletcher eat your heart out!

Good artwork, good dialouge and whatnot, awesome narative parts in here too which impressed me a lot! Its just a shame it was all rounded into a rather OTT plot line about huge guns and tanks which can move at speeds matching those of a Formula One race car. Still, overall enjoyable.

Not to mention this is the Punisher book which came out on the exact year and month of my birthday. May 1991. :)
