There are attractive elements in this issue that save it from a harsher judgement. Any time you bring so many characters together you loose the uniqueness of each of them and hope that the merger will be greater than the individual parts. It is this reality that is playing against this cross-over event. Marz has taken care to keep the reader informed of the role each character plays by providing extra details at the end of the issue. It also helps that he has enlisted a great artists to his cause.
Having read all six issues I'm kind of invested in this series. So, I'm always hoping that it will show some direction and sense to justify the investment.
