The Cover is the Best Bit!

This was an interesting and decent idea for a comic too give the reader a good round up on how Gotham is coping with the loss of Batman, from the point of view of the people on the street.

Sadly, this comic lacked heavily in good execution and felt very watered down and lost. This one shot, tells 4 stories from the eyes of 4 reasonably decent characters, and I found that only 2 of these stories were enjoyable. Those were the short stories about Stephanie Brown (aka. Spoiler) and Harvey Bullock. The other 2 stories were seemingly wasted pages and were very unenjoyable.

The Harvey Bullock story was written well and did more for the characterization of the character than anything else. Plus it had amazing artwork!

The Stephanie Brown story I enjoyable because it had good art, and it was well written as well.

Otherwise, this issue is one you can miss out on. As you can probably tell, I can't be all that bothered to do a in-depth review of it, I just don't feel it's worth the effort.

I agree with your review. At some periods in the book, I let my mind wander. Several times, I had to pull myself in and re-read that section.
