THOR, SIF and BETA RAY BILL (now armed with Stormbreaker) head into space via Thor's chariot pulled by TOOTHGNASHER and TOOTHGRINDER to find Bill's people and his ship SKUTTLEBUTT. There's a lot of action in this issue, but to make a long story short, they succeed in driving the demons away from Bill's people and the day is won.
When the trio returns to ASGARD, Odin transfers the enchantment which allows Thor to turn into Donald Blake to BILL's hammer so he can return to his unaltered humanlike form. Bill is moved to tears. Sif, finding an honorable warrior in Bill, decides to travel with Bill to help protect his people. And a happy ending is hallowed throughout the halls of ASGARD.
Truly, WALT SIMONSON came out swinging with the first issues of his run on THOR and introduced a mighty new character into the mythology. To this day, these issues stand as some of the best issues of THOR written since STAN LEE and JACK KIRBY was first building the THOR universe. There's some really fun stuff in the rest of this run, so I think I'm going to dive into more SIMONSON THOR goodness! For Odin! FOR ASGARD!
