The Green Hornet: Year One presents us with a very realistic Chicago of the late 1930s where gangsters ruled the crime scene and the police were playing catch up with organized crime. The windy city is depicted so well in the panels of this comic (as well as San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge) that one feels being right there with the smells and sights of the neighborhood. The relationship between Britt and Kato continues to evolve and we see how Kato influences Britt’s fighting style as well as outlook. The art is different from other Green Hornet titles, but suits the story very well. I specially like the flashbacks giving us a more clear history of the Green Hornet legend and its main protagonists. This being the penultimate issue in this story arc, we are being filled with all the relevant information to enjoy future stories as they emerge from Matt’s imagination. Great work! Keep them coming!
