In First Wave #3, this series comes to a halt from my perspective. They have lost a reader due to the complete waste of a potential good idea; heroes without power battling human bad guys with brawn and brains. The art saves the issue, but the writing simply does nothing for the story. The writer does not know what to do with the Blackhawks, brings in and never develops the Rima character, underplays Doc Savage and is ever so slow in developing Batman and Spirit. I have simply given up on such slow progress. This is issue number three and we still have no idea what the story is meant to mean, what direction it’s taking and if there is any point at all to it. With other titles coming out in the fall, it’s time to clean up the attic and make room for more quality comics.
