In Mindfield #1 we are exposed to the tools of the trade for C.I.A operatives in a world that LSD pills can open the psychic link between minds and special agents are trained to sniff out those that are plotting to endanger our lives. The premise of the story is executed with frightening realism and the story has enough internal logic to bring the reader to that special place where you feel part of the story. The continued references to September 11 keep the story clearly fixed in the here and now.
The extremes of two of the major characters are revealed in detail allowing us to speculate how future issues can evolve if the trend continues. Krul shares more Connor’s back story revealing the motivations and fears that make him such a troubled and dangerous character.
I can’t wait to see how the other characters are profiled and see their evolution revealed in the forth coming issues.
