OK, if you can get past the weird artwork, this story is really fun! It was refreshing to have the entire story told in a single book. Even the chapter breaks were very cool.
Again, with the art… Honestly, I am not a hard guy to please when it comes to art work but when the art looks like it is from the 60’s I just have a tough time. The facial expressions were un believable to me. It was like looking a newspaper from the 60’s. I am sure that there are some people who like Paolo Rivera’s art, but many of them have died years ago.
Zeb Wells did a great job writing this book. As I said, I am not a Punisher fan but this writing made me want to be on. I loved it. As I read through the book, Frank Castle was tough, rugged, and mouthy. Then, as we move through the story, there is a page where Frank must make a decision and I found myself torn as to what he should do. Of course we find that Frank makes the right choice, and it was just like watching a heavy metal band play a great ballad. There is a sensitive side!
I also enjoyed the antics of Peter Parker in this story. The guy just can’t get a break. Peter needs money (of course) and is trying to become a cab driver to supplement his income. His quips through-out the book had me laughing out loud. This book was a fun read and worth the money.
