I'd like to think that if I were Superman, I would have it together much more than the DC version. How can one person, with so much power, who does so much good in the world always be so tormented?
I understand the premise behind Supe's "What is my role?" complex. My question however is this, why don't any of the other metahumans in the DC universe struggle with the came thing? Sure there is the odd mention of it here and there, but I always get the feeling that is the underlying message in every Superman book. And quite frankly it comes across as whining.
I didn't mind the story in this collection that deals with what happens when Superman can't help someone. And I understand the pain that must bring to someone like Superman. But the righteous undertones that I always get from this hero are enough to make me sick.
Sorry Supes, but I don't have faith in your believability as a super hero.
