And so ends Thor's battle with the Desir in Hell. I have to be perfectly honest and say that I didn't understand all of the nuances of this storyline. I'm not sure if it is that I am not versed well enough in mythology, or that the book is simply too smartly written for a simple reader such as myself. Either way, I've found most of the series to be a lot like this story, slightly confusing. I understand 90% of the storyline, but there is always that 10% that leaves my asking, "What?"
Thor shows us a side rarely seen of the Thunder God when he tricks the Desir twisting their rules cursed obligations against them. After putting in motion a layered strategic attack, Thor is able to win the day and save Hela...once again.
I was a little disappointed with Doug Braithwaite's pencils. They felt slightly rushed and static. Mico Suayan provides us with a lovely cover though! I'd love to see him tackle the interior art assignment.
So, we will see where Thor's travels take him next. Just as I have been saying since his return to 616, it would be nice to see him interacting with some other heroes on Earth. I'm tiring of the Asgard stories.
