This is an autobio by a French-Canadian published by Drawn & Quarterly. The cartooning is fine but nothing special and the stories are just so boring. I like auto-bios done right, and while the first story was close to done right, the second was told in a "First we did X. Then we did Y. Then we did Z." kind of way that was awful. And this won the 2003 Harvey for Best New Talent. Yuck.
Oh, this book also has, on the bottom left of the cover, "All Ages - Suggested for 10 and above." Maybe I'm just getting old, but you know what? A book that has a scene of young Paul urinating(including a little penis action), seeing dirty pin-ups above the toilet (including a little naked woman action) and then shouting (uncensored) "$#!t! I peed on myself!" is not for All Ages or 10-year olds. And that's not exactly a lone scene or anything. That's just asking for the retailers to get in trouble by giving this to a 10 year old. Who decided the age appropriateness of this book?
