Valor, having just been diagnosed with fatal lead poisoning, returns home to Daxam seeking a cure but upon arriving he discovers that the planet has succumbed to a mysterious plague. Meanwhile, one thousand years in the future, Legionnaires Triad and Brainiac 5 discover a problem with the timeline as Valor mysteriously vanishes from all history records.
