How many Skrull versions of Hank Pym is there? This is the story about one of them. Actually, it is pretty cool. It’s Funny how Bendis takes the story line and weaves it around the simple pleasure of taste. I enjoyed the human traits of this Skrull Pym and his observations.
The whole Secret Invasion thing is pretty cool with me, and I never expected to see as much human drama as I have in the arc. In this issue Bendis masterfully tells the story of a rogue Skrull who fell in love with human emotion, nostalgia, and the complexities of human existence.
I was not crazy about the art, but that is a matter of personal taste. Khoi Pham is just a little to cartoony for me. I like more of a realistic look. But still, the art fit the story, and I did enjoy it.
When Marvel first went Avenger crazy with New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, Avengers Initiative, and some of the one shots, I was worried. They have done a great job with this title, and I think any contemplative reader would love this story.
