Was this an Avengers story?

The bulk of this book revolved around a sub-story involving characters we've never really heard of. Cannon fodder for the sake of being able to tell a story and have someone be killed. The story was good, in a "not important to comic continuity" kind of way. And the last page did feature a reference to the New Warriors continuing to exact revenge on Osborn's Initiative (Tigra to be exact...) This is still agood book, i'm just wondering if they are running out of things to write about when it comes to the main characters.
