If you want to see the evolution and emergence of a great writer/artist then there is nothing better than the three volume trade collection of Frank Miller’s Daredevil run. In them you will witness the emergence of a talented storyteller and incredibly gifted and imaginative artists. In each panel you will be exposed to the working of a mind that conceives movement and form in a revolutionary way. Revolutions are drastic changes to the current state; well, Frank Miller is a revolutionary in both the writing process and the penciling of panels. The work prior to Miller had a quality that was forever changed after Miller developed his style on the pages of Daredevil. Miller's great experimental writing phase culminated with the Daredevil graphic novel where he let loose the pent-up energy that was the man without fear, but his artistic phase reached its climax with Badlands where Daredevil did not even make an appearance. One can not diminish the development in both the writing and penciling of Elektra in the pages of Daredevil where his love of comics is best displayed. The Resurrection issue is a classic in the display of the female form and the depiction of the inner struggle of Elektra for her own path and the great affection she has for Daredevil.
