Created By:
Stan Lee
Art by:
Jack Kirby
History:
Anthony Stark was born in Long Island, New York. He enters M.I.T at age 15 in electrical engineering and graduates at the top of his class. At age 21 Tony inherits his fathers company Stark Industries after his parents are unfortunately killed in a car accident. Tony makes sure it never happens to anybody else by buying out the company that made the faulty brakes in his parents car. Tony eventually visits Vietnam and is captured by a war lord named Wong Chu. Tonys heart is badly inujured by a piece of shrapnel lodged in it. Tony is forced to build weapons for the warlord along side another scientist Yin Sen. Stark designs and builds an exo-skeleton with Yin Sen. This bulky iron suit gives him tremendous strength and firepower and keeps his heart beating. Stark is able to escape with the savrifice of Yin Sen and kills Wong Chu. On his way out, he finds a downed Air Force pilot, Jim Rhodes. Iron Man introduces himself as Tony Starks bodyguard and the two escape back to north Vietnam and eventually back to the U.S. Tony continually improves his armor eventually turning the colors red and gold. He also expands his company renaming it Stark International.
