Zombie Goodness

I am really glad that I decided to give this title a shot. The balance between zombie gore, social-historic references and well placed sexuality make this one of my favourite books on the market right now.

Mike Wolfer and John Russo continue to masterfully weave precedent setting historic events with current zombie lore. What could be better than tying the most interesting decade in American history (1960's) with the most interesting pop culture phenomenon of the 21'st century (zombies)? Hippies and zombies, what a brilliant pairing!

Once again I went with the wrap-around cover, which in my opinion is masterful. I absolutely love the way the artist plays off of the "million man march" a la zombie. Not only is it fun to look at, it is incredibly clever on so many different levels.

It's funny too, the story itself is entertaining but it is not the story that keeps me hooked. All of the other elements listed above are what makes this series sing to me.

I patiently await the release of issue four and am already mourning the fact that this is just a limited series.
