When you think of the Hulk who do you think of? Jack Kirby? Peter David? Dale Keown? Todd McFarlane? Forget them, John Byrne is the MAN!!
When Doc Samson hears of the Hulk heading towards the Bomb Site where he was created he flies down there to try to offer help. (Remember, at this time Banner was trapped in the Hulk's body)
When he reaches the bomb site he is greeted by a fist and a fight soon ensues between the Hulk and Samson. People, this is
the Hulk fight, not super destructive or super intense but really well drawn and very fluid.
Halfway through the fight the Hulk starts to see apparitions of his former foes. And then-- well I don't want to ruin the ending.
Why is this issue good? Besides being the first comic I ever read it is really well paced, something you don't see very often. Nowadays stories are a 3 minute read, this comic may be able to be read in that but the way it's paced you'd think you had just finished War & Peace.
In conclusion, if I was to have only one Hulk comic, this would be it. Well-drawn and written (it
is John Byrne) this comic will keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat. And, let's be honest, it's nice to read a comic with a beginning, middle and end now and again.
