About Hilda
Hilda (also known as Hildafolk) is a British children's graphic novel series created by Luke Pearson and published by Nobrow Press. The series was adapted into a television show, which premiered on Netflix on September 21, 2018. Following the success of the Netflix adaptation, several storybook tie-ins were released.
The graphic novels are set in a fantastical world reminiscent of late 20th-century Scandinavia, drawing inspiration from Scandinavian folklore and the Moomins. The story revolves around the titular character, Hilda, a young girl who initially lives with her mother in a cottage on a plain surrounded by mountains and forests. As the series progresses, Hilda relocates to the city of Trolberg. In Hilda's world, the everyday lives of regular people intersect with the existence of fantastical creatures, such as trolls, giants, elves, and spirits. In the fourth book, Hilda joins Trolberg's Sparrow Scouts.
