Remember those big matches of yesteryear? Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels, Hogan vs. Sting, Austin vs. The Rock, Rock vs. Hogan, Triple H vs. Foley. You could feel the electricity in the air; if you were fan you were probably on your feet yelling at the TV during most of those matches. Well get ready for another moment in history. Next Sunday on March 15th it will be Kurt Angle vs. Sting for the 1st time, competing for the World Heavyweight Championship at TNA: Destination X. Last week on TNA: Impact there was a phenomonal empty arean match between them. Unfortunately (after brutalizing each other for 15 minutes) Kevin Nash came out and broke them up. The animosity between these guys is great! The storyline with the Main Event Mafia coming apart is a great set-up for the match too. Personaly, I can't freaking wait! Sting is one of the greatest of all-time, and Kurt Angle, love or hate him, is also a legend.

Kurt Angle pound for pound is the best all around wrestler and personality I have ever seen. He is in the twilight of his career now, but he is the total package.
Sting, as always is one of my favs as a child and a respectable person outside the ropes. LEGEND in every sense of the word.

While TNA's initial product may be crap IMO, and Sting vs Angel is sure to be great, another huge match that i'm really looking forward to now has been confirmed.
Sting vs Mick Foley

As noted earlier, TNA promotional material in the Philadelphia area were advertising a Sting vs. Mick Foley match at the all-cage match Lockdown 2009 pay-per-view next month.
iNDEMAND has released the official synopsis and pay-per-view poster for Lockdown. Here's what they have:
Two decades in the making…Two of wrestling’s biggest legends…One historic showdown inside the infamous six sides of steel cage. Hardcore legend Mick Foley…“The Icon†Sting…The battle of a lifetime! TNA Wrestling presents Lockdown, where every match takes place inside the barbaric six sides of steel cage.
The poster itself features Sting and Mick Foley, a cage and the tagline "The Icon vs. Hardcore Legend."

I really want to be excited, but then I remember how old Foley is, and how stiff he is. If this was 10 years ago...

I don't care to see Foley in a cage with Sting is something I NEVER thought I would have the priviledge of seeing in my lifetime. I am aware that it won't be what it could have been, but I know that when you put Mick in the limelight in a main event, he will give you every damn thing he has, and even at this point in his life, that is more then most.

That's really the same way I've felt about Sting since his return to TNA a few years ago.
Not so say that Sting is a bad wrestler, but he is no where near what he used to be. Same goes with Foley, but both have still had really good matches over the past few years.
I agree, if both guys were 10 years younger, then the match could be F'n amazing, but regardless, it's still going to be awsome. Especially given their history in WCW in the early 90s, this should be a fun feud.
