Spiders. I freaking hate spiders!!! Those suckers can be anywhere at anytime and kill you in an instant. And lets be honest, do they not look like evil killing machines?Nailbiting

My biggest fear was losing my wife. Since that actually happened now, I really dont fear anything. I guess I still have a fear of heights and being stuck in tight spaces.

1. Any Family Man's fear. I don't want to actually write it out.
2. Heights. Can't even get on my own roof anymore. After I almost fell 3 stories off a roof several years ago, I get vertigo and shake like a leaf if I'm even a single story off the ground. It seriously took me 3 hours to to get semi-comfortable (get my ass off the ridge) to help my dad put a roof on our small garage at the lake house.

Yeah, Mick, I can see how that would cause you to fear heights.

I guess I have a fear of drowning because I fell into a lake back in Iowa when I was a kid and I couldn't swim. My brother was able to grab my arm and pull me out before I went under. Since then its been hard for me to go under water without getting nervous.

Two things for me:

1. Getting to heaven and finding out I didn't get the invite.

2. Losing my wife.

I don't like spiders. Don't really fear them, but they do disturb me on sight. I'm trying to think of something else.....I've got nothing.

i don't think in terms of 'fear' very often... but:

- i have a VERY healthy respect for spiders

- i got a little panicky while scuba diving in a zero visibility lake

- i'm no longer married, so the bad 'family' type things apply more to my three kids

- not being in control has potential

Bees/Hornets. I scream and panick like a little girl when they buzz around me.

Spiders don't bother me, I find them fascinating.. although we don't have venomous Spiders in Canada like you guys have in the states.

Very true. Check out the Brown Recluse. They are abundant here and can cause some serious damage. For being such a small spider, they are highly venomous. One of our painters got bit a couple years ago and still has the scar tissue from the bite. We also encounter the Black Widow here and there.

Check out these pics of what a Brown Recluse can do:
WARNING DO NOT LOOK AT IF YOU HAVE A LIGHT STOMACH!!!!!

http://www.brownreclusespider.org/brown-recluse-spider-bite-picture.htm

AND PROBABLY THE MOST VIEWED AND HORENDOUS BROWN RECLUSE BITE VIEWED ON THE WEB: VERY NASTY!!!! THIS SPIDER IS VERY DANGEROUS AND UNASSUMING.

Here in Arizona we have brown recluse, scorpions, and tarantulas. I hate 'em all. What a brown recluse can do is disgusting. Some people think black widow spiders are bad but they dont even come close, imo.

I'm surprised nobody here has a fear of Joe Quesada. Anxious

Yeah, we have none of that. No Alligators, no Tarantualas, no scorpions. I don't even think we have venomous snakes. The worse we have is racoons with rabies, lol.

No man-eating moose with fangs the length of broom sticks? I see no reason to ever visit Canada then.

When I was a teen a had a strange fear of floating up into the night sky. I would get dizzy and a sick feeling in my stomach when I looked at the stars.
At that time there was a new mall with these big sky lights. I can remember going there at night with my family. It made me very nervous. While they walked in the middle of the isle, I walked by the stores. I would imagine the sky lights breaking open and sucking everyone out, so I wanted to be close to something that I could grab onto. I know, pretty weird. I don't have it anymore. I can't imagine why I would have such an irrational fear. I must have had a previous life on a starship and died by being sucked into space!Winking

I was bit by a brown recluse. It caused a black scab 1 to 2 centimeters to form that took 1 to 2 months to heal. Apparently the California variety of BR is much less potent than it's southern cousin.

Come on Spiderman geek, you guys got Wolverines, Bobcats, and Polar bears, don't you?
We've got Brown bears, mountain lions, rattelsnakes, black widows.

I haven't met or seen anything physical (eg spiders, snakes) that scares me. I do fear the idea I will die unsuccessful and alone though. Because that idea is always a possibility. You have just got to make sure it doesn't become a reality.

Where do you live in Kentucky? Where I live in Kentucky we got rattlesnakes, copperheads, brown recluses, black widows, black bears, bobcats, coyotes, and I've heard many stories of there being big cats(mountain lions) around the area but I have yet to see one.And plenty of crazy rednecks.

As for fears.I have a phobia of being eaten by a shark.I figure if I don't ever go swimming in the ocean or one of the big rivers then I'm safe.
I am also afraid of snakes and heights(which is funny considering going up on roofs is part of my job).I can handle being on a single story roof but I don't like to go any higher than that.Being scared of heights usually goes hand in hand with being scared of flying.I have flown in airplanes and helicopters on several occasions.Needless to say I was nervous as a cat pooping razor blades on a hot tin roof.

I'm married and have kids so I have the same fears as any married man about those things.

Ladders. Not heights necessarily, but ladders. Climb a tree to get on a roof - fine. Climb a ladder to get on the same roof - nope. Climb up a 20-30 ft. metal rack (like at BJ's or in the back room of food stores) that pallets get stored on - just fine. Stand on the forks of a forklift and get lifted to the top of that 20-30 ft rack - fine. Don't even think of asking me to climb a ladder to the top though - won't happen.

Yup, makes no sense whatsoever.
