Over the past week, we’ve been in negotiations with some incredibly talented individuals who are ready to acquire CCL and take it to new heights. That means ComicCollectorLive.com will continue to provide all your collecting, buying, and selling needs—today and well into the future!

We’re pleased to let you know the website is once again accepting new subscriptions and will continue to operate as usual. Our new partners are fully equipped to maintain the high quality of service you’ve come to expect from CCL, while also introducing fresh upgrades and enhancements that will elevate the platform to the next level.

We want to thank all of you for your unwavering support and for being such an important part of CCL. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding over the past week, and we’re confident that with this acquisition, CCL will be better than ever!

Hey CCL Members,

It is with great sorrow that I am writing this email today. As many of you know, for almost 18 years, Comic Collector Live has been operating at a loss. The website was supported with media revenues from our other main business, and the staff and I ran CCL in our off time as we are all comic book lovers.

Unfortunately in January of 2024 we lost our media business, laid everyone off, and have been operating at a loss for the last year. Steve and I have been running CCL for the past year as we looked for a buyer, or someone to take over the platform. On a personal note, I have been dealing with some family health issues and have not been unable to allocate time to do as much as I used to with CCL. Because of these extenuating circumstances we are writing to you today.

As of today we have not found anyone who wants to take over CCL, so it is with a very sad heart we are writing to inform you that we are forced into phasing out ComicCollectorLive.com. On February 1st, it will no longer be available.

Members: Please download your inventory reports as soon as possible. Reports will not be available after February 1st. Also, Member fees will be reimbursed through PayPal for time remaining on their membership over the next few days. We will no longer be accepting new membership as of today.

Store Owners: Please set your store to vacation mode as soon as possible. Complete the shipping of all your remaining orders. We will no longer be running invoices for stores. Your final sales will be commission free. Be sure to run your store reports as store information will only be available till February 1st.

This is a very sad day for us and the comic book community. I want to thank everyone who has been with us throughout the last 18 years for being a great part of a great community. Many of you are friends, and I am truly going to miss this community.

This was a devastating update to hear. Wish you all the best in future endeavors. This was a great platform unlike anything out there currently and a shame to see it go away. We all understand its been difficult all around (on all platforms) but I feel like this was a great thing here!
Can we do anything to help maintain it or is that the final decision to close down? Ugghh...this sucks!

Truly heartbroken to hear. Been using the software for years. It's how I've stayed alive collecting with no brick and mortar around. I've made some true connections with sellers over the years. This is hard,not sure where I'll be going from here myself.
Thank you for all the wonderful years. I wish there was a way we could help keep this going.

I cannot overstate the greatness of this platform or the amount all of you will be missed. Like a punch to the solar plexus, this took my breath away.

Wow, this is shocking news for me today. With that said, I am appreciative of this platform. I joined as a customer in December of 2007, then opened my storefront in March 2015. When the pandemic hit in 2020, I was especially thankful for this platform as it literally kept my livelihood afloat (as I lost so much commissionable business in my "real career", without my employers doing anything to assist me in a time of need).

I guess I will look to do one final sale this weekend, since I will not reach my store's ten-year anniversary in March.

Sad News, Joe.

After almost 15 years, I'm finding it hard to let go of all of this.

Thank you Joe and Steve for the opportunity to sell here, the personal visits at the conventions, and the relatable phone conversations.

Let us know about future ventures, and where you land.

Fellow members know I was closing my store anyway, but I was hanging out as long as I could as well.

Peace and maybe we can all find another place to gather and continue all this nonsense.

I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of ccl for the last 18 years. I have enjoyed using this platform for 13 years and truly appreciate everyone that I have interacted with while using ccl. I will honestly miss adding the new books every Tuesday night to see them go live on Wednesday morning. If I can help in any way just reach out.

What is the asking price for the platform? Maybe some of us sellers can band together and buy it?

Agreed. Efforts have been made for a year to find a buyer, but nobody here knew about it? The ability to sell is kind of limited when it's done in secret. I'm sure people here know people that might know people that might be interested.

Agreed. Im very curious as well. Maybe we can pool something together here. I feel as its a HUGE loss to the community and nothing else like it. Soo many social media outlets to help promote and grow this site.

I've been here a long time. CCL was my lifeline due to living in a barren wasteland devoid of a reliable local LCS. This really sucks and I echo the sentemants about how much of a lifelnie it provided durring the pandemic.

Ok, I just reread the original message. Says CCL will no longer be running invoices. Does that mean new sales between now and January 31st are not possible?

Part of me reads it as . . . We will not process invoices for orders placed by CCL customers in your CCL store.

The other part of me reads . . . We will not be invoicing stores for member/listing/sales fees between now and the time of the website closure.

Ah, good point. So....anyone gotten any orders today?

Go to the Dashboard at the top of the page, then click "My Reports" near the middle of the next page, then on the right side, under "My Sales Inventory Report", click "Generate Report". I don't know exactly how long after that you'll need to wait (I think CCL says it could take up to a day), but the next step is to hit "Download Report".

I was wondering the same thing. I'm guessing that we can still sell stuff.

Have not gotten an order today.

I will stress to everyone that I am going to honor any sales regardless of what happens to the site. As I'm sure most (if not all) other sellers will do.
