About Grendel (1986)
*Matt Wagner's creation, the character of Grendel, returns in this series and is explained in the foreword by the author as an identity that can be worn by many individuals. Wagner's original alter ego for his protagonist (1983's 'Grendel' by Comico), was studied by the journalist, Christine Spar, who, for this series, assumes the identity of Grendel herself.
Written by Wagner and penciled by the Pander Brothers, the story is that of a woman who takes action when her son is abducted by a villain, Tujiro-San, an entertainer with a high public profile, and the authorities either can not or will not aid her.
She assumes the identity of Grendel to cloak her actions, perhaps unaware that the entity of Grendel will become a part of her persona. *Source: Warlock
