Batman and Mad Monk is set like a suspense/horror movie that you would see on the LATE LATE LATE LATE Show. Batman is just beginning to be a crime fighter and James Gordon is still a Captain. I like the setting and the chracters that Matt Wagner uses to weave the tale.
The story is driven by the interactions of Julie Madison and Batman/Bruce Wayne. The Mad Monk is played like a LATE LATE LATE LATE Show villian and the final battle between them plays out the same.
