Should have waited a few weeks
I love Batman and I so much wanted to love this story, that said there are a few problem with these books: the titles all interlock but don't follow the story order of the interlocking covers. The covers connect starting with Batman & Robin, Red Robin, Batgirl, & The Outsiders. the order you need to read is B&R, RR, Outsiders, BG. I can only assume next week Carwoman will connect to Commissioner Gordon and then the following week to Oracle and Ra’s Al Ghul. My problem is the stories don’t connect in that order, it was my mistake not to buy the Outsiders so I guess I gotta go back and pick it up to finish this story properly but even then there not gonna connect properly.
**Warning these issues should really be read after you read Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #6 (Which has not been released yet) According to DC’S website Return #6 doesn’t hit shelves until 11/10/10**
I love the relationship Dick and Damien have going, Damien is a whole different kind of Robin then any of the other Robins we’ve seen. This story involves a new “mystery” assassin, Batman & Robin are out to stop this guy but he puts up a good fight and keeps his ground with both Batman & Robin. Plus he appears to have Amazo’s powers which means he has everyone’s powers. It’s a good story, right from the pages of Batman & Robin we see Vicki Vale doing her best Lois Lane impression trying to prove Bruce is Batman, she even gets to go on another date with Batfake Tommy Elliot.
Alfred spills the beans to her and lets her know Bruce is dead and he is Batman, as you would expect she has no proof and Alfred see’s to that. Also we see that Time knows who this “Mystery” assassin is, but that’s gonna have to wait for you to read it.
It’s a good read, I’m really liking the Return of Bruce Wayne stories even if they do seem like we just read them a year ago when Captain America returned.
I’m giving this a 3 out of 5 just because this issue really should have waited until after Return of Bruce Wayne #6. Again Marvel did it first but DC should have learned from Marvels mistake.
