Item Biography
"The Island, Part 2 of 2"
*Hellboy, having been mortally wounded by the Urgo-Hem, finds himself on a grassy, sun-lit plain with Mohlomi, wondering if this is death. Mohlomi assures him it is not, and returns the talisman which Hellboy lost in his battle with the Bog Roosh. Hellboy instantly finds himself returned to life, but in the company of the mystic who died 500 years ago. The man tells his history, about his life as a Spanish holy man, sent to burn the Aztec temples. On one such mission, though, the Aztec wise men shared ancient wisdom about the origin of the world, about the arrival of spirits to this barren place, and about one upstart spirit who dared to touch the forbidden fire, then created the seven dragons, Ogdru Jahad. When the dragon spawned their 369 offspring, the Ogdru Hem, the spirits drove the Ogdru Hem into the Earth and imprisoned the Ogdru Jahad in the abyss of the heavens. The spirits then struck down the upstart who created the Ogdru Jahad, cut him to pieces, and destroyed him, except for his right hand, which is what Hellboy bears. God came down to punish the spirits, driving some into the pits of Hell, others becoming the Golden People. The man warns that the Ogdru Hem still live, and will soon arise from the Earth, then after, Ogdru Jahad will come again. The man claims to be reborn from Hellboy's blood, and destined to lead the people against the coming plague of frogs and the Ogdru Hem. Hellboy has enough of the ranting and takes the fight to him, but the man has Urgo-Hem on his side. When the monster mistakenly impales himself on a shipwreck mast, the fight is over, and the mystic is consigned to Hell. Mohlomi and Sir Edward Grey console each other about the risks they have incurred providing support to Hellboy's fights, as they see the unavoidable coming conflict. *Source: Warlock
