Earth's heroes battle a large group of evil doppelgangers sent by the Magus. Meanwhile, another group of Earth's heroes attack the Infinity Watch and Thanos.
Also still on the trail of the energy readings are the Magus and the Dark Thanos, Dr. Strange, Galactus and his Heralds, Kang and Doctor Doom.
Kang and Doom reach the Magus stronghold and sneak in.
Having come across the battle between Earth's heroes and the Infinity Watch, Galactus transports all of them aboard his ship.
Within the Magus's stronghold Kang and Doom soon discover that the energy readings they have been following are actually five Cosmic Cubes.
Galactus aids the Heroes back on Earth by destroying the doppelgangers.
With the aid of Galactus's tech, he accesses everyone's memories and everyone soon discovers that the true villain that they're after is actually the Magus.
In order to take on the Magus, Adam Warlock reassembles the Infinity Gauntlet only to discover that due to the Living Tribunal's previous ruling, the gems no longer work when combined.
Galactus decides to plead with the Living Tribunal itself to get him to reverse his decision concerning the gauntlet.
Immediately after Galactus departs, the Magus appears and grabs Adam Warlock who is still wearing the non-functioning Infinity Gauntlet.
