Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future was a line of action figures, vehicles and playsets produced to allow children to interact with action on the television screen.
Captain Power was the leader of the Soldiers of the Future. In the Captain Power mythology, Earth in the year 2187 was under the rule of Lord Dredd and the Bio-Dread Empire. Wearing special "power suits" that prevented them from "digitization", the Soldiers of the Future were mankind's last hope to bring down Lord Dredd. A 22-episode live action TV show was made as well as 3 animated "Training Videos" that gave children a use for the special light-activated electronic toys.
Captain Power fit inside several special vehicles and playsets that were made for the toy line, but none of the action figures contained electronic components.
