"The Trail of the Jackal"
Triangle 1992-44. Continued from Adventures of Superman (1987) #496 and continues in Superman: The Man of Steel #18.
A vigilante calling himself the Jackal is making his way across the midwest killing drug dealers, smugglers, cultists, arsonists, murderers, and anybody else he thinks needs to die. While returning home from a visit with his parents Superman comes across the scene of the Jackal's latest escapade and uses his resources at the Daily Planet, as well as some help from Robin and the equipment in the Batcave, to track down the Jackal and bring him to justice.
