In the original script for this issue contained a scene in which Apollo and Midnighter were to kiss. This was controversially removed by DC and was the beginning of several censorship issues in the series.
This was also the last issue drawn by Frank Quitely. Due to his departure, a story arc by Tom Peyer cut in over the next 4 issues in order to give the new artist, Art Adams, time to catch up. For this reason, part 2 of this story line was not printed until issue #27.
