"Rules of Engagement Part One"
Batman arrives at the scene of a break-in to find a mother already dead and the perp trying to kill her young child. Batman breaks it up and saves the child's life but before he can get any info from the perp, he is disintegrated by a laser weapon. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne and Lex Luther compete for a government contract but Lex is not playing fair as he turns one of Wayne Industry's own creations against them.
