"1: There is Only Ever Blood"
Ironically, on the day before Independence Day, events stand ready to rock the United States. For years, super-powered vigilantes have been a reality. The Seven Guns have operated openly, and one of their group, John Horus, has even been a fixture in the halls of power in Washington DC. They are enhanced humans, with seemingly unique, god-like powers, but they are not immortal. Their technical advisor, Frank Blacksmith was assassinated, and one of their group killed in a bomb blast that crippled a second member, Tom Noir, who is now retired from the group.
Now, however, Frank Blacksmith magically reappears on Tom Noir's door with a gun in his face, and, more shocking still, John Horus assassinates the President and hold a press conference to tell the world.
