*Richard Rory and the Man-thing make peaceful company with each other in the swamp, as Richard pines for Ruth Hart. That peace is disrupted by Sybil Mills, running from her life from a gang of masked men, the Demons of Liberation, whose mask hides a hideous secret.

"The Effigy!"
*Gang member Vincent Durand flees from the police, and seeks shelter from his friend Papa Genoux. Vincent inadvertently disrupts Papa's cult ceremony. Papa hides Vincent, but the cult is taken into custody by the suspicious police. In an effort to free the cult from prison, Papa creates a voodoo doll of Vincent, to exert occult force on Vincent to turn himself in. Vincent realizes what is going on, and tries to end Papa's control by seizing the doll. His actions have disastrous consequences.

"Death of the Monster!" featuring the Monster of Frankenstein.
*Frankenstein's monster regains consciousness after the collapse of the ghost ship in Antarctica. He searches for other survivors, and finds the Cabin Boy and Robert Walton IV, both badly injured but alive. The Monster strives in vain to keep them alive and to craft an escape vessel for them, but the harsh environment is against him. With his dying breath, Walton informs the Monster that a descendant of Victor Frankenstein yet lives in Ingolstadt. The Monster set out to track down the one person who may hold the answers about his creation.
