"The Coming of the Nomad!"
Steve Rogers is finally feeling good about himself and his decision to quit being Captain America. He has been influenced by his erstwhile Avenger partner Hawkeye to take up the super-hero mantle again.
Madame Hydra uses subterfuge to spring the Viper from the custody of U.S. Marshals, in order to kill him and usurp his name to reform the Serpent Squad.
When Steve effusively tells Sharon Carter the news that he plans on taking up a new costumed identity she fails to share his enthusiasm. He ends up journeying alone to her parents' home in Virginia for some peace and quiet to come up with the new identity.
Since it was his disillusionment with modern American politics that led to renunciation of his Captain America role, Steve Rogers considers himself a man with no country... a Nomad.
The newly christened Nomad chooses Washington to make his debut. He doesn't need to wait very long to get into action. From the rooftops he sees the new Serpent Squad assaulting civilians in front of a theatre.
Cap - sorry, the Nomad swings into the fray.
In the midst of combating the slippery Serpents Nomad comes to regret the ostentatious inclusion of a cape with his new costume, after tripping on it and falling flat on his face. This sort of thing never happens to Thor.
First appearance of Steve Rogers as the Nomad.
Madame Hydra assumes the identity of the Viper.
