In the recent past, Aquilonia's army had been defeated and King Conan imprisoned by the Nemedians, aided by the sorcery of Xaltotun. But a member of the Nemedian King's harem, the beautiful Zenobia, aided in Conan's escape.
Now, King Conan and the Aquilonians have returned to crush Nemedia, and Conan comes to claim the woman whom he intends to take as his queen, if treachery doesn't stop him.
