"The Bird Men of Akah Ma'at"
Conan is in the city of Syterna where he helps a warrior woman named Alhambra. Who turns out to be of the winged race of Akah Ma'at, who live in a flying city. She is on a mission to recover a rod of power used to defend her city versus the bat people Ur-Xanarah. Conan agrees to help her recover the rod and tracks it down to a local wizard that will not give it up. During recovering it, Alhambra is struck by an arrow and vows to kill the wizard and return the rod to her city. (Two part story).
