"The Temptress in the Tower of Flame!"
After having fought in the arena, for the amusement of the Seven Wizards, Conan emerges victorious. It seems his prize is a beautiful maiden, but when he grabs her veil, to look upon her face, her true nature is revealed - she claims to be "Death", and is prepared to send Conan to his.
Conan proves to be a worthy adversary, and when the Seven Wizards see this, they send in their warriors to finish off the outlander. The mysterious woman vanishes, but the swordsmen approach. Conan insists that there is no need for all seven wizards, and that one would surely be enough.
Civil war erupts amongst the guardsmen, with each group fighting for their master. Meanwhile, Bourtai reveals himself to Conan from a secret passage within the arena walls, and the two escape the battle to the catacombs beneath the city.
It turns out the Seven Wizards have kept captive the Princess of Wan Tengri, high in the Flame Tower, the source of the Flame Winds that enable the wizards to keep the city at bay. Conan makes his way, with the aid of Bourtai, to the Flame Tower, and frees the Princess.
Conan destroys the enchanted device that emits the Flame Wind from the tower, and now free from the spell, the people of the city destroy the remaining wizards. With the Seven defeated, and the Princess returned to power, Conan would be on his way with a ship full of gold, and Bourtai as his servant.
While sailing away, all of a sudden, their ship starts to sink, and changes into a leaky dinghy, while all the gold transforms into worthless rock. Looking back to the city of Wan Tengri, the two see the Flame Winds emanating from the tower once more. Apparently, the Princess is a sorcerer herself!
