Elric and Dyvim Slorm head west after defeat by Jagreen Lern, still in search of Zarozinia's captors. They meet Sepiriz, who bears the lost twin blade to Stormbringer, Mournblade. Sepiriz tells Elric of the return of the Dead God Darnizhaan and Elric's role in stopping it. Elric dispatches Darnizhaan, and attempts in vain to rally the Young Kingdoms against the coming invasion by Pan Tang and Dharijor.
